Learn to Play Hockey

The Best Learn to Play Hockey program on the planet!! Program director is former NHL star and current Junior Railers Director of Hockey Operations Bobby Butler. His staff of experienced coaches will focus on FUNdamental skills such as power skating, shooting, stick handling, passing and team play. 


Boys and Girls ages 4 and up.


Learn to Play is designed to transition a player from Learn to Skate to organized team hockey.

When can I join?

Full season Learn to Play runs from September to April but you can sign up anytime!!

Practices and Games

Skills practices are Saturday at 8:50 AM and Scrimmages are 9:20 AM on Sunday at Worcester Ice Center.

Some weeks may be different due to special events, holidays and ice conflicts. See calendar for complete schedule.

American Development Model

The American Development Model is a nationwide model for successfully developing hockey players. The ADM is a nationwide blueprint designed specifically to help kids reach their full potential.

JERSEYS and Equipment

All players will receive a Junior Railers reversible game jersey at their first practice. All players must wear full hockey equipment including a helmet with a facemask.

Learn to Play - December

Learn to Play Hockey tuition is $200 for new registrations on or after January 26, 2022. 

The payment method on file will be charged $100 at the time of registration and $100 on March 1.
