About the Junior Railers
About the Junior Railers Hockey Club
The Junior Railers Hockey Club is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) youth hockey organization serving Worcester and Central Massachusetts since 1987.
Our mission is to provide a competitive and supportive environment where players ages 4–18, of all abilities, can reach their potential on and off the ice. Guided by Integrity, Character and Work Ethic, we emphasize individual skill development, teamwork, camaraderie and fair play.
From Learn to Play Hockey through 8U, House, Travel and AAA, we offer opportunities for beginners taking their first strides and experienced players looking to advance their game. Players can learn, develop and compete at a level that fits their abilities and goals, with room to grow within the organization. Our programs help players build confidence, form lasting friendships and develop a lifelong love of hockey.
Our History
Our roots date back to 1987, when Midstate Youth Hockey incorporated. The organization later became known as the Midstate Junior Ice Cats, followed by the Midstate Junior Sharks and Worcester Junior Sharks.
In 2012, the Worcester Crusaders merged with the Junior Sharks, adding AAA hockey and expanding opportunities for local players. The organization became the Junior Railers Hockey Club in 2017.
Our hockey family continued to grow with the addition of the Worcester Rail Dawgs in 2021 and the Worcester White Hawks girls program in 2024. Together, these programs carry forward our commitment to developing players and making hockey a sport for everyone.
