Introducing 2017 Worcester Rail Dawgs Elite Head Coach Brett Smith
The Junior Railers Hockey Club is proud to introduce Brett Smith as the head coach of the 2017 Worcester Rail Dawgs Elites for the 2024-2025 season. Coach Smith is a 2007 graduate of Saint Anselm College and is the first (and only) four-time First Team All-Conference selection in team history. As a defenseman, he earned back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year honors from the NE10 as the Hawks won four regular season championships and two postseason titles in his tenure. In total, he helped the Hawks to a 68-35-6 record (.651) which stands as the winningest four-year stretch in team history. In 108 games played he finished with 35 goals and 69 assists (35-69=104). He was a three-time ECAC East All-League selection and was honored as a Saint Anselm College Athletics Hall of Fame Class inductee in 2022.
Brett is a native of Hudson, Massachusetts and played 3 seasons professionally after college in Cincinnati, Huntsville and Knoxville in the East Coast and Southern Pro Hockey Leagues. Prior to College he played prep school hockey at Canterbury School in Connecticut. He will bring a wealth of hockey experience to the Junior Railers organization and his focus will be developing our players both on and off the ice.
